In 2005, Lithuania's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 10.6% compared to 2004, reaching 1,455,276.

Lithuania ranks 17th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 24.1% (from 1,172,394 in 2000).
