In 2000, Luxembourg's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 12.5% compared to 1999, reaching 9.0%.

Luxembourg ranks 17th out of 21 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 25.0% (from 12.0% in 1995).
