General government expenditure by function (COFOG)

In 2007, Malta's general government expenditure by function (COFOG) increased by 0.7% compared to 2006, reaching 13.5%.

Malta ranks 16th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.3% (from 13.2% in 2002).
