Overcrowding rate by poverty status - EU-SILC survey

In 2020, Malta's overcrowding rate by poverty status increased by 13.5% compared to 2019, reaching 4.20.

Malta accounts for 24.1% of the EU-27 total of 17.4.

Malta ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 10.5% (from 3.80 in 2015).
