In 2020, Malta's share of total population living in a dwelling with a leaking roof, damp walls, floors or foundation, or rot in window frames of floor decreased by 19.7% compared to 2019, reaching 6.10.

Malta ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 39.6% (from 10.1 in 2015).
