In 2018, Portugal's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 6.6% compared to 2017, reaching 81.

Portugal ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 43.8% (from 144 in 2013).
