In 2021, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty threshold for a single household increased by 0.6% compared to 2020, reaching 7,442.

Portugal ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 14.8% (from 6,483 in 2016).
