In 2007, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex stood at 25.1%.

Romania ranks 1st out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 39.4% (from 18.0% in 2002).
