In 2016, Romania's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 15.1% compared to 2015, reaching 247.

Romania ranks 6th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 26.3% (from 335 in 2011).
