In 2019, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate of elderly people by tenure status increased by 10.1% compared to 2018, reaching 25.1.

Romania accounts for 157.9% of the EU-27 total of 15.9.

Romania ranks 8th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 59.9% (from 15.7 in 2014).
