In 2021, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty threshold increased by 12.6% compared to 2020, reaching 10,438.

Romania ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 84.1% (from 5,670 in 2016).
