In 2005, Slovakia's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 8.9% compared to 2004, reaching 1,303,700.

Slovakia ranks 19th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.3% (from 1,274,200 in 2000).
