In 2013, Sweden's out-of-pocket expenditure on healthcare increased by 0.9% compared to 2012, reaching 29.9.

Sweden ranks 17th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 9.4% (from 32.9 in 2008).
