Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 1988, Austria's population change increased by 1.8% compared to 1987, reaching 11.6.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 12.6.

Austria ranks 21st out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 2.5% (from 11.9 in 1983).
