In 2024, the EU-27 figure for life expectancy by age and sex was 78.9.

That is a 0.3% rose versus 2023 (78.7).

Over the five years before that, the EU-27 aggregate moved 0.5% higher.

Across member states, Sweden reported the highest value (82.3, 2024) and Latvia the lowest (71.4, 2024).
