In 2016, Austria's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 1.7% compared to 2015, reaching 80,503.

Austria ranks 6th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 4.5% (from 84,277 in 2011).
