In 2017, Austria's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 14.0% compared to 2016, reaching 69,259.

Austria ranks 7th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 18.7% (from 85,238 in 2012).
