At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2021, Belgium's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 9.2% compared to 2020, reaching 12.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.8%.

Belgium ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 17.4% (from 15.5% in 2016).
