In 2011, Belgium's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 5.3% compared to 2010, reaching 16.0%.
The figure is below the EU-27 average of 17.6%.
Belgium ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.6% (from 15.6% in 2006).
