At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2021, Belgium's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 8.3% compared to 2020, reaching 13.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 17.5%.

Belgium ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 20.5% (from 16.6% in 2016).
