At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2022, Belgium's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 1.5% compared to 2021, reaching 13.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 17.4%.

Belgium ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 21.2% (from 17.0% in 2017).
