Employment rates by citizenship

In 2025, Belgium's employment rates by citizenship increased by 1.4% compared to 2024, reaching 64.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 66.6%.

Belgium ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 5.2% (from 61.0% in 2020).
