In 2017, Belgium's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 4.8% compared to 2016, reaching 75,151.

Belgium ranks 5th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 26.6% (from 102,451 in 2012).
