In 2017, Germany's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 15.6% compared to 2016, reaching 365,182.

Germany ranks 2nd out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 15.1% (from 430,211 in 2012).
