Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2010, Bulgaria's population change decreased by 6.4% compared to 2009, reaching 10.2.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.4.

Bulgaria ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 9.7% (from 9.3 in 2005).
