Population on 1 January by age group and sex

In 1978, Bulgaria's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 1.9% compared to 1977, reaching 127,430.

Bulgaria ranks 14th out of 22 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 9.2% (from 116,684 in 1973).
