Population on 1 January by age group and sex

In 1982, Bulgaria's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 3.6% compared to 1981, reaching 150,817.

Bulgaria ranks 13th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 20.5% (from 125,114 in 1977).
