Population on 1 January by age group and sex

In 1984, Bulgaria's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 4.6% compared to 1983, reaching 165,163.

Bulgaria ranks 13th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 24.9% (from 132,234 in 1979).
