In 2021, Bulgaria's at-risk-of-poverty threshold for a single household increased by 8.4% compared to 2020, reaching 5,625.

Bulgaria ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 39.1% (from 4,045 in 2016).
