In 2006, Croatia's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 3.8% compared to 2005, reaching 1,426,000.

Croatia ranks 19th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 20.3% (from 1,185,000 in 2001).
