In 2020, Cyprus's students enrolled in tertiary education by education level, programme orientation, sex and field of education increased by 5.9% compared to 2019, reaching 53,192.

Cyprus accounts for 0.3% of the EU-27 total of 18,010,667.

Cyprus ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 43.1% (from 37,166 in 2015).
