In 2021, Cyprus's students enrolled in tertiary education by education level, programme orientation, sex and field of education increased by 0.6% compared to 2020, reaching 53,508.

Cyprus accounts for 0.3% of the EU-27 total of 18,529,195.

Cyprus ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 32.6% (from 40,347 in 2016).
