In 2020, Cyprus's total researchers by sector of performance increased by 4.8% compared to 2019, reaching 3,029.

Cyprus ranks 20th out of 21 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 42.9% (from 2,119 in 2015).
