In 2006, Estonia's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 12.2% compared to 2005, reaching 554,000.

Estonia ranks 23rd out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 36.0% (from 407,300 in 2001).
