In 2008, Estonia's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 5.3% compared to 2007, reaching 551,800.

Estonia ranks 22nd out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 27.1% (from 434,000 in 2003).
