In 1975, Estonia's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 1.9% compared to 1974, reaching 28,953.

Estonia ranks 21st out of 22 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 12.1% (from 25,819 in 1970).
