In 2005, Finland's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 3.5% compared to 2004, reaching 2,430,000.

Finland ranks 14th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 13.8% (from 2,135,000 in 2000).
