In 2006, Finland's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 3.1% compared to 2005, reaching 2,506,000.

Finland ranks 14th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 16.0% (from 2,161,000 in 2001).
