In 1982, Finland's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 6.1% compared to 1981, reaching 91,793.

Finland ranks 15th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 35.8% (from 67,610 in 1977).
