In 2020, France's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 18.5% compared to 2019, reaching 1,174,223.

France ranks 1st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 16.0% (from 1,397,363 in 2015).
