In 2010, Germany's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 0.6% compared to 2009, reaching 16.4%.
The figure is below the EU-27 average of 17.1%.
Germany ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 27.1% (from 12.9% in 2005).
