In 2020, Germany's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 4.1% compared to 2019, reaching 298,357.

Germany ranks 1st out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 35.7% (from 463,929 in 2015).
