In 2020, France's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 16.5% compared to 2019, reaching 279,437.

France ranks 2nd out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 26.3% (from 379,253 in 2015).
