Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 1990, Hungary's population change increased by 2.5% compared to 1989, reaching 12.1.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 12.2.

Hungary ranks 18th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 0.8% (from 12.2 in 1985).
