In 2006, Hungary's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 11.2% compared to 2005, reaching 3,214,000.

Hungary ranks 13th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 29.5% (from 2,482,800 in 2001).
