In 2021, Hungary's people at risk of poverty or social exclusion by sex increased by 1.0% compared to 2020, reaching 39.2.

Hungary accounts for 90.3% of the EU-27 total of 43.4.

Hungary ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 31.5% (from 57.2 in 2016).
