In 2021, Slovakia's people at risk of poverty or social exclusion by sex increased by 13.0% compared to 2020, reaching 31.2.

Slovakia accounts for 71.9% of the EU-27 total of 43.4.

Slovakia ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 8.8% (from 34.2 in 2016).
