In 2021, Hungary's net occupancy rate of bed-places and bedrooms in hotels and similar accommodation (NACE rev. 2, i, 55.1) (from 2012 onwards) increased by 17.9% compared to 2020, reaching 27.6.

Hungary accounts for 81.4% of the EU-27 total of 33.9.

Hungary ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 27.9% (from 38.3 in 2016).
