In 2020, Hungary's net occupancy rate of bed-places and bedrooms in hotels and similar accommodation (NACE rev. 2, i, 55.1) (from 2012 onwards) decreased by 44.2% compared to 2019, reaching 23.4.

Hungary accounts for 83.0% of the EU-27 total of 28.2.

Hungary ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 35.5% (from 36.3 in 2015).
