At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2023, Ireland's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 10.4% compared to 2022, reaching 12.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.2%.

Ireland ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 19.5% (from 14.9% in 2018).
